Behringer XR18 Power Supply PCB upgrade replacement

For many years I’ve been selling a pack of 11 capacitors to do basic repairs on the Behringer XR18 PSU board. This Behringer XR18 Power Supply PCB is an entire replacement PCB to solve the problem once and for all!

These have been really successful – a lot of customers have fixed their Behringer XR18 mixer PSU using the kits. However due to the large ground planes on the SMPS board and the cheap solder used, this is a tricky soldering task for those without professional level soldering equipment. Sometimes customers have tried to fit the capacitor kit and caused more damage to the board.

Also, a small number of boards have other faults. Sometimes it’s the switching transistor, or the optocoupler. Sometimes it’s hard to diagnose just where the fault lies in the closed loop system of the Behringer mixer’s switched mode power supply PCB.

Behringer used to supply replacement PCBs (still using the poor quality caps) but they’ve stopped supplying these now. There are a few dodgy looking links on AliExpress claiming to work, but the they also describe the unit as being for repairing a food mixer! Don’t let AI write your product descriptions. kids!

So I designed a new high quality PCB to replace the Behringer PCB. I used high quality components (including good capacitors, or course!) and I electrically isolated the digital circuits from analog circuits for the lowest noise.

Please note that the Behringer XR18 Power Supply PCB installation isn’t a solder-free job. The board is supplied without cable X2. You have to cut that from the original board and solder it in to this board. Make sure you get the X2 wires in the right order though, or bad things will happen!
